HCS has been serving Houston Honda and Acura owners since 1987. Over the past 30 years we have gained a loyal following of more than 30,000 satisfied customers, and have serviced more than 38,000 cars. Due to overwhelming requests, we began servicing other fine asian imports like Toyota, Lexus, and Nissan almost 15 years ago. Both owners have well over 35 years of automotive service experience. While employed by Honda dealerships we received extensive training from the Dallas and Atlanta training facilities, and were awarded American Honda's prestigious Honda Top Tech Awards. ASE Certified Master Technicians.
Since American Honda offers no training to anyone outside of dealership employment, and has fought along side other manufactures to keep from releasing diagnostic information to the public, forcing you to return to the dealer for most diagnostic repairs, we have come to rely on personal and public training seminars by Japanese automotive specialist like Dan Marinucci, who is also a senior writer for Motor Magazine, and others of his caliber, for the latest in all our Honda, Acura, Toyota, and Lexus diagnostic and service training. We have found this type of real world training more beneficial than the module type training we had once received.
And like any caring automotive professional we continue to study, test, and recertify ourselves as Master Automotive Technicians through the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
Between both owners and our technicians, we have over 100 years of experience working on Honda and Acura cars only. That does not even include the experience of all of our friends which are also Honda or Acura technicians within the city of Houston, or the vast network of other Honda specialist scattered through out the country that along with us pool together our experiences and ideas. This expertise, along with the latest diagnostic and service equipment and a vast library of current technical data, goes into every repair or service we do.
Behind our expertise follows a 24month/24,000 mile warranty on parts and labor, unmatched by dealers and most independents alike, at no extra cost to you. We have free shuttle services available by appointment. And unlike some dealers and quick lubes, we don't try to up sell you services that the manufacturer does not call for or authorize, we try to go strictly by your owners manual/shop manuals service schedule. Our shop is easily accessible from 610, 59s, Westheimer, Richmond or Westpark. We are close to Greenway Plaza, Medical Center, Galleria Mall, Bellaire, Meyerland, Rice Village, Westchase District, I10 Energy Corridor, Memorial, Tanglewood and The Heights. HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?
Tony John and I were both employed at Gillman Honda, and during lunch one day back in the spring of '87, we both discovered we had the same idea of working in or owning a shop that worked on Honda cars only. A shop where our professionalism and integrity could provide the personal quality service that the huge dealers we both had worked for could not provide.
In November of 1987 that dream became a reality. The response from all the Honda families in Houston was phenomenal! Our incredible growth from our reputation alone was very uncommon in the automotive industry. Our hard work and dedication to provide honest and dependable customer service was really paying off in customer loyalty. Our growth was beginning to draw a lot of attention. Over the next few years several shops opened trying to duplicate our success - most failed because of their lack of concern for customer satisfaction. We were beginning to satisfy so many Honda and Acura owners, that we even caught the attention of American Honda, with several visits from zone reps during the 1990's, and after being in business 19 years, in 2006 American Honda Motor Co. forced us to give up our name HCS Automotive and our domain name hondacarshop.com. They felt we were purposely infringing on their trademark, and was confusing or misleading customers away from their dealerships and to our front doors. From that came the strange name change.
It has been our pleasure serving Honda families all over the Houston Metro and surrounding areas. We also appreciate our loyal customers who have moved out of town, but still drive in for Saturday appointments from Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Galveston! We enjoy serving our customers as much as we have enjoyed working on such a great product for so many years.
Several customers have told us over the years that they were looking at a different make of car, but they purchased another Honda because we won't work on anything else. That makes us feel really good inside. We have grown and matured along side our Honda families, watching children grow up and drive off to college in Dad's old Honda that we have been servicing for ten years now. We also get to meet all the new additions to the family when Mom brings her Odyssey van in for service. With all the wonderful relationships we have established with our Honda friends over the years, it has been a most rewarding career for Tony and me.
